이 작업은 홀수로 떨어지는 장갑을 통해 균형과 관계의 의미를 탐구한 작품이다. 짝수는 외톨이가 없는 깔끔한 균형을 상징하지만,
이 작품에서는 그와 반대로 깔끔하게 맞춰지지 않는 곤란한 관계 속에서 균형을 찾기 위한 노력을 이야기하고자 했다.
나는 우리 삶에서 관계들이 항상 완벽하게 맞아떨어지지 않음을, 그리고 그러한 불완전한 시작 속에서 우리가 균형을 잡기 위해 얼마나 많은 노력을 기울이는지를 안다.
이 과정은 때로는 차갑고 쌀쌀맞을 수 있지만, 그런 노력 속에서 잡혀진 균형은 얼마나 아름답고 진정한가.
나는 그 노력의 결과가 결국 따뜻하게 남기를 바라는 마음으로 뜨개질로 이 장갑 작업을 만들게 되었다.
이 작품 속 홀수로 떨어진 장갑들은 이러한 불완전하거나 불편한 균형을 상징하며, 그럼에도 불구하고 우리가 서로에게 온기를 전달하고 관계를 이어가려는 인간적인 노력을 담고 있다.
이 작품은 균형을 맞추기 위한 우리의 지속적인 시도와 노력을 되새기며, 그 과정이 모두에게 따뜻한 기억으로 남기를 바라는 마음을 담고 있다.

This work explores the meaning of balance and human connection through an arrangement of gloves presented in odd numbers.
While even numbers often symbolize harmony—where everything has its pair and nothing is left behind—this piece intentionally disrupts that neatness, focusing instead on the awkwardness and discomfort of imbalance that often characterizes real relationships.
I know that in life, relationships rarely fit together perfectly.
And in those imperfect beginnings, we pour immense effort into finding equilibrium.
Sometimes that process is cold, uneasy, or delicate—but when balance is finally found through such effort, it can be deeply genuine and beautiful.
With this in mind, I chose to knit each glove by hand, weaving into them a quiet warmth and care.
The presence of an odd glove in each set becomes a symbol of the imperfect, inconvenient balance we all navigate—and yet, despite that, the work speaks to our persistent human desire to connect, to offer warmth, and to continue building relationships.
This piece is an ode to those ongoing efforts.
Through it, I hope to reflect on how we constantly try to restore balance in our relationships, and how, in the end, those attempts—no matter how imperfect—can remain with us as tender and lasting memories.
