이윤서 YOUNSER LEE (b.1994, Seoul, South Korea)
예술이 특정한 공간이나 대상에 한정되지 않고, 일상의 한가운데에서 삶과 자연스럽게 만날 수 있기를 바랍니다. 이러한 마음을 가지고 사람 사이를 오가는 감정과 관계가 기억으로 남고 시간 속에서 변화해 가는 모습을 탐구합니다.
작업에는 주로 우리 주변에서 흔히 마주하는 사물과 상황을 가져옵니다. 익숙한 것들이 시각적이고 참여적인 장면으로 전환되면서, 관람객이 직접 머물고 움직일 수 있는 공간이 만들어집니다. 그 안에서 관람객은 무심코 지나쳤던 감각을 다시 마주하고, 자신과 타인 사이에 놓인 거리와 관계를 새롭게 느끼게 됩니다.
저는 이러한 경험을 통해 서로의 존재를 의식하고 감각하는 순간을 만들고자 합니다. 일상 속에서 잠시 나타났다가 사라지는 감정과 관계의 흔적, 기억 속에 남은 순간들, 그리고 눈에 띄지 않게 쌓여가는 시간의 결을 작업에 담습니다. 그렇게 담긴 감각과 기억이 보는 이의 경험과 만나 새로운 의미로 이어지기를 바랍니다.

I hope that art can move beyond being confined to particular spaces or objects and meet life naturally at the heart of the everyday. With this intention, I explore how emotions and relationships exchanged between people become memories and transform over time.
My work often draws on familiar objects and situations found in our surroundings. As these everyday elements are transformed into visual and participatory settings, they create spaces in which viewers can stay, move, and engage directly. Within these spaces, viewers encounter sensations that might otherwise go unnoticed and experience anew the distances and relationships between themselves and others.
Through these experiences, I seek to create moments in which we become aware of and sense one another’s presence. I bring into my work the traces of fleeting emotions and relationships, moments that remain in memory, and the layers of time that quietly accumulate beyond our notice. I hope that these sensations and memories will meet the viewer’s own experiences and unfold into new meanings.
