Scattered Words 《흩어진 말》
굽지 않은 흙으로 만든 여러 개의 원형을 깨뜨리고, 각각의 파편 위에 감정과 생각의 조각이 되는 말들을 적어 바닥 곳곳에 흩어놓는다.
관객은 길 위의 돌을 발견하듯 조각을 마주하고, 직접 집어 들거나 옮기며 서로 다른 조각과 그 위의 말들을 연결해볼 수 있다.
우리가 건네는 말은 언제나 처음의 모습 그대로 상대에게 도착하지 않는다. 전하고 싶었던 마음의 일부는 사라지거나 흐려지고, 때로는 다른 의미로
받아들여진다. 하나의 말이 사람과 사람 사이를 지나는 동안 끊어지고 섞이면서, 처음과 전혀 다른 의미가 되기도 한다.
작업에 사용된 굽지 않은 흙은 물과 충격에 약해 사람의 손을 거치며 닳거나 다시 부서질 수 있다.
그 위에 연필로 적힌 말 역시 접촉이 반복될수록 흐려지고 번지며 때로는 지워진다. 관객이 조각을 만지고 옮기는 행위는 흩어진 말을 다시 연결하는
동시에 그 흔적을 조금씩 변화시킨다.
그러나 흩어진 조각들은 누군가의 손에서 이전과 다른 조각을 만나고, 그 사이에서 새로운 문장과 의미를 만든다.
《흩어진 말》은 온전히 전해질 수 없는 말과 그럼에도 누군가에게 마음을 건네려는 시도, 그리고 그 과정에서 새롭게 생겨나는 의미에 관한 작업이다.

《Scattered Words》
Multiple forms crafted from unbaked clay are broken into pieces, with words representing fragments of thoughts and emotions inscribed onto each fragment and scattered across the floor.
As if discovering stones along a path, viewers encounter these pieces and can pick up or relocate them, connecting different fragments and the words written upon them.
The words we offer never reach the other person in their original, pristine form. Part of the intention we wished to convey fades or blurs, and at times, it is received with an entirely different meaning. As a single word passes between people, it breaks and mixes, occasionally transforming into something completely alien to its starting point.
The unbaked clay used in this work is vulnerable to water and impact, wearing down or shattering further through human touch. Likewise, the pencil inscriptions on their surfaces blur, smudge, and occasionally erase with repeated contact. The act of touching and moving these fragments simultaneously reassembles the scattered words while continuously shifting their traces.
Yet, in someone's hands, these scattered pieces meet other fragments, creating new sentences and meanings in the spaces between them.
《Scattered Words》 is a work about words that can never be fully delivered, the enduring attempt to offer one's heart to another despite that truth, and the fresh meanings that continuously emerge along the way.
