People often say, “Let’s get a cup of coffee,” to friends, colleagues, or acquaintances.
However, this phrase does not always mean going to drink a literal cup of coffee.
More often, “a cup of coffee” is a way of saying, “Let’s spend some time together.”
In this way, the idea of “a cup” can take on entirely different meanings depending on the situation and the person.
This work begins at that point of ambiguity.
It reveals the subjectivity of the measurement units we use in everyday life and invites viewers to reconsider and redefine for themselves what the phrase “a cup” truly means.

사람들은 친구, 동료, 혹은 지인에게 종종 “커피 한 잔 하자”라는 말을 건넨다.
하지만 이 말이 실제로 물리적으로 한 잔 분량의 커피를 마시러 가자는 뜻은 아닐 때가 많다.
이 표현 속의 ‘커피 한 잔’은 단순히 한 잔 단위의 커피를 같이 마시자는 의미보다는 “같이 시간을 보내자”는 의미일 수 있다.
이처럼 ‘한 잔’이라는 개념은 상황과 사람에 따라 전혀 다른 의미를 가질 수 있다.
이 작업은 바로 그 지점에서 출발한다.
우리가 일상적으로 사용하는 측정 단위의 주관성을 발견하고,
관객에게 “한 잔”이라는 표현의 의미를 스스로 다시 정의해보도록 질문을 던진다.
